This program was developed to promote horsemanship, friendly competition, and good sportsmanship.
This program is open to any Tri-Cities Horsemen's Association member in good standing.
Points are awarded to riders competing in Tri-Cities Horsemen's Association horseshows, gymkhanas and playdays (horse events only).
A high point program year funs from October 1st through September 30th. For example, 2005 program year is from 10/1/2004 through 9/30/2005.
Fees:
A yearly non-refundable fee of $10.00 will be collected from each participating
horse and rider combination to help cover the cost of awards. Each participating member must complete a registration form and pay the fee before any points are accumulated.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for High Point awards, participating members must:
All registration forms, fees, sponsor donations and raffle items must be turned in to the High Point Chair(s).
Club Divisions:
Division of competition will be based upon CSHA Gymkhana Time Divisions.
Rated riders will ride in Time Divisions as rated by the CSHA Rating Secretary.
Division 7 will be broken up into age divisions, at the Chairs discretion. Age divisions are to be determined as of January 1st of the current program year (e.g. 10 years old on January 1, 2004 would be considered 10 years in the 2004-2005 program year).
During CSHA approved shows all riders must ride in their appropriate CSHA division but club points will be calculated based on club divisions.
If a Playday’s divisions are based on age, points earned in the age divisions will be included in the riders’ accumulated point totals.
Rider’s Year-End Division:
A rider’s final year-end division (in which awards will be presented) will be determined by the official CSHA rating as a result of the last Tri-Cities rated show and points will be accumulated through September 30th.
Show Points:
Show Points are accumulated over the program year for high point riders only based on place standings for each event. All non-high point riders are ignored on the show sheets and high point riders' place standings are moved up where appropriate for a better chance at making points.
Points will be awarded down to 9th place as follows:

Points are on the rated horse and rider combination, a non-rated riders will be limited to one mount per show.
When a horse and rider combination is re-rated to another division any points earned in their previous division will be carried over to the new division.
Two-person events - only the rider in control of the horse will get points (e.g., Rescue Race) and the horse must be their rated horse. Switch will not count for points.
If a rider rides in these events more than once, only the top place standing will count. Additional place standings will be ignored.
Participation Points:
When a high point rider attends and participates in club meetings and other club functions, excluding gymkhanas, one participation point will be awarded to each horse and rider combination for which they have registered. It is the riders' responsibility to sign in at each function.
Year-End Awards:
Year-end awards to qualified riders will be down to 5th place for all rated and non-rated divisions. Participation awards will be presented to all other registered riders who meet the program requirements.
Responsibilities:
It is the responsibility of the High Point Chair(s) to collect and calculate points after each show. Results to be published in the monthly newsletter and web site.
If is the responsibility of the rider to contact the High Point Chair(s) in a timely manner if they believe an error has been made.
Penalties:
Riders not working their assigned events will be penalized 3 points per occurrence. The points will be deducted from their show points.
Riders displaying unsportsman like behavior, using vulgar language, or being abusive to their horses will lose their points for the day. Second offences will cause rider to be dropped from the program with no refund of program or show fees.
